Comparisons

Use enn for comparisons: lettere enn. Mer is used with some adjectives and to express a greater amount.

The rule, step by step

  1. Many adjectives take -ere: billig becomes billigere. Introduce the second item with enn.
  2. Some adjectives use mer, as in mer interessant. Others are irregular, such as bedre.
  3. For equality, use like … som rather than enn: like stor som. Keep this separate from a comparative.
