English translation

At a market Omar saw goods presented as local. He liked supporting small producers but wanted to understand the label. One seller explained where ingredients came from and where the product was made. Another used “local” because the shop was nearby, although goods came from far away. Omar discovered the same term could mean different things. He began asking specific questions about production, transport and price. He also realised no single label answered everything. A good choice had to suit family needs and budget. He bought some goods at the market and others in an ordinary shop. The aim was not a perfect purchase, but better understanding his choices.
