Amal worked at a café where the shift rota often changed at short notice. It was difficult to plan her daily life because she also attended a Norwegian course. She wanted to raise the problem without criticising her colleagues. Before the meeting she wrote down two examples and a proposed solution. She suggested that the regular rota should be ready two weeks in advance. A colleague explained that illness sometimes made changes necessary. Amal agreed but asked that everyone receive the same information whenever the rota changed. The manager suggested trying a shared overview and one channel for messages. After a month they discussed how it had worked. The rota could still change, but staff found the information more easily and could ask questions earlier.
